Weekly Update

I have started my reaserch by searching online just to get a concept of how much information I am going to have to cover during this project. I started by googling images and found some very AMAZING photographs that were taken before, during, and after the fire. These images then led me to some interesting facts about the mishap from the websites from which they came from.

Next week I will start to thoroughly look through information at libraries and archives starting with the Maryland Room at our main library. I tried to search information on the Langsdale Library website and was surprised to find that we didn't have any information on the fire at our school library.

Proposal for History of Baltimore's Research Project

As shown in the title for my research project, I will be researching the events of the Great Baltimore Fire of 1904. I will be focusing on the events that happened during the fire, the areas of Baltimore that it affected, and the process that citizens took to clean and build the city after the fire, along with the areas that were not affected by the fire and if the citizens of that area helped in any way. I will also list the pros and cons of the fire.

I chose this topic because I have seen many pictues of the inner city before the fire and found that the skyline was much different than after that fire. This topic is very crucial to being taught to the rest of the class because many "Baltimoreans" were affected physically and emotionally for years during and after this event.
